5.   HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE:
The Body Blocker ™ is intended to fit comfortably - not too tight, not too loose. If the suit is too tight, the kids may find it uncomfortable to wear. If too loose, the suit when wet may become heavy, making it difficult for swimming.
Two Piece Suit
- The most important measurement is overall height followed by waist size.
- This is a good option if you would like the suit to fit for more than one season. The shirt is designed to be longer in the back than the front. The extra length not only provides room for growth but also additional protection for their backs when the child is bent over and playing.
- Makes diaper changing much easier.
- Generally preferred by older kids who will use it predominantly for active wear with swimming a secondary use.
One Piece Suit
- The most important measurement is torso length followed by waist size. Once you have measured your child's torso length, add 2" to this number to determine the perfect fit.
- Quick and easy. Just zip up the suit and watch the kids go!
- Great for parents who don't want to be concerned with tucking in shirts.
- Prevent kids from taking off their shirts when mom and dad aren't looking!
- If you are spending time at a beach, the One Piece Suit will prevent sand from getting into diapers or down the suit.

7.   ABOUT THE FABRIC:
The Body Blocker ™ blocks up to 98.6% of both UVA and UVB rays. That's the equivalent of a SPF 100+ or UPF 50+.
You're probably familiar with the term SPF (Sun Protection Factor) from sunscreens but may be less familiar with the term UPF. UPF stands for UltraViolet Protection Factor, referring to a rating system for fabrics developed by Australian scientists. Australia, having one of the world's highest rates of skin cancer, rates its sun protective clothing as follows:
| UPF Rating | UV Protection | UV Blocked |
| 15, 20 | Good Protection | 93.3% to 95.8% |
| 40, 45, 50, 50+ | Excellent Protection | >97.5% |
Source: Australian Radiation Laboratory
How do we know how much protection our fabric offers?
Our fabric is tested by independent organizations that specialize in testing fabrics for their sun protection factor. The fabric is placed on a machine called a spectrometer which is able to measure the amount of UVA and UVB rays that pass through the fibres of the fabric. The amount of rays that pass through is then translated into a SPF or UPF factor. For example, a fabric that offers UPF 50+ means that it blocks more than 97.5% of UVA and UVB rays.
Additionally, the Body Blockers are a registered medical devise under Health Canada regulations.
The protection offered by the fabric may be lessened due to the following circumstances:
- if the fabric is damaged / ripped
- due to the effects of regular wear over time
- when wet, the Body Blocker ™ offers a UPF 40+
