You would probably expect the owners of a sun protective clothing company to be the kind of people who completely avoid the sun and expect everyone else to do the same. That's definitely not us!

Our philosophy is: Do what you love to do and enjoy the summer. Just be Sun Smart when you're doing it!

Every summer as far back as we can remember centered around the water and the sun - either swimming, working as a lifeguard or just hanging out. I wish we knew then what we know now about the sun and it's effects on our skin.

According to the Canadian Cancer Society:

One in 7 children will develop some form of skin cancer in their lifetime;
One serious, blistering sunburn as a child has been linked to the development of skin cancer later in life;
80% of a person's lifetime exposure to the sun occurs before the age of 18; and
the vast majority of people don't put enough sunscreen on and don't reapply it often enough, limiting it's effectiveness.

We know you've got better things to do this summer than worry about the sun. Let us block the sun so you can focus on more important things, like having fun!
